Star Jasmine

This collection is an ode to the Star Jasmine botanical beauty. Just as its vines grow intertwining the fabric of two cultures, it symbolizes the love and connection I have to both the South of France, and my home in South Carolina. The splashes of color embody the sensational fragrance of these tiny blooms, while the drips are likened to the curiosities within nature. My intent is to simplify my work—to explore the unexpected and maintain the focus on the mark making while incorporating texture by utilizing mixed-media. Each original has been created using watercolors, oil pastels, colored pencils & acrylics on French cream paper.
