Each piece began as watercolor and oil pastel on paper that I collaged with my mini palettes. Then I mounted each one onto a hand-painted birch panel. Josef Albers spent a lifetime proving that no color exists alone. That every hue is secretly a shapeshifter, defined entirely by what surrounds it. These color studies live that truth. The fragments inside each piece aren't just shapes; they're conversations and feelings. For the art lovers who get this: you're not collecting just any art. You're collecting an experience.
I've propped them up on the mantle, side tables, on top of dressers and of course on the wall…and I genuinely cannot find a spot where they don't look great. Whether you collect one or more, they bring that, I-have-great-taste energy to the room. And to make them *extra special*, you will find a QR code included on the back of each work that will take you to a curated playlist that includes the songs that inspired the titles for each painting.
